Any cure for rheumatoid arthritis?

Just to let everyone know this is a serious question.
My mom is 46 years old and I’m not going to lie. Every time I see her lying down in bed barely able to move I feel horrible. She takes her medicine daily but it doesn’t seem to help.
I’m sure there is no known cure for arthritis.
Does anyone know of any proven natural remedies able to heal pains? I’m 19 and will soon head off to college, I would hate to leave her at home like this.

Thanks

no because of one factor, it is caused by genetic mutations in the DNA.

    Here’s two odd remedies:

    (1) Currently there are a lot of experiments being done on diverting the immune system. One theory of arthritis is that the immune system is attacking the body itself. So the diversion is to give the immune system something else to attack. This is totally in experimental stage. I know the father of one of the doctors working on the project. But they’ve had a lot of success introducing minor bacterias and viruses to give the immune system something else to target. This has cured in the tests: allergies, asthma, and arthritis.

    (2) Bee Keepers don’t get arthritis as a general rule. Many of them even return to Bee Keeping after leaving so that they can stave it off. It’s the occasional Bee Sting that does it. I’ve heard some places even give it in a shot now for arthritis. If you want to look into that Bee my guest.

So sorry to hear about your Mom’s condition. I have Lupus, which is very similar to RA. Along the lines of the joint pain it is almost identical. Do you know if your Mom is on prednisone? I have been taking this on and off for the past 2 years, and it has helped. (you can only take it for short periods at a time). Another topical medicine that works great for flare ups is Voltaren Gel. It is a prescription, so see if her doctor can prescribe that too. It works like asprin, but it is absorbed through the skin and it’s great bc it doesn’t cause the upset stomach or irritation some of those OTC drugs do. One of the non-prescription topical remedies I’ve used, although some can have a strong medicinal smell is Clove oil! It’s amazing for quick relief, and its nice in the summer bc it has a cooling effect. It’s not as harsh as some of those icy-hot type creams and doesn’t smell as bad!

Also, what works for me is "water massage". I’m not sure where you live, but they have them all over where I live in SC. Just google it to see if they have any in your area. Does she have a good doctor? I know that my doctor is always trying new things to try to help w/the pain and through a lot of research, I’ve found so many different ways to somewhat alleviate the pain. Though it never really completely goes away, there are things that have worked to temporarily give me some relief! Saunas, hot-tubs or hot baths are wonderful, heating pads on my joints helps, getting a professional massage….and believe it or not, taking walks on the beach not only makes me feel less stiff, it also soothes my soul! I moved to SC bc of the warm weather mostly year round, and it too has made a huge difference! I know this may not be practical for your Mom, but if she is ever given the opportunity to move south, I highly recommend it!

One last thing….There is a good website http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com which has a lot of other tips and ideas, as well as support for those who suffer from this debilitating disease! Feel free to contact me anytime if you would like some more info on what I’ve learned through the years! I usually don’t spend as much time or get this in-depth with my "answers" on here, but TRUST me…I completely understand what your Mom is going through, and feel her pain! Literally!! I hope she can find something/anything to make her feel a little better…I know how difficult it is for you to see her suffer, and she is lucky to have such a wonderful daughter who cares so much! You will both be in my prayers! Good luck with college!

    Chris

There is no natural remedy. People try diet, exercise, and homeopathic OTC medications simply do not work. Enbrel shots DO work, but are VERY expensvie and most people can’t afford them. Plaquenil works a little bit, but you have to take it for months to see any improvement and it can cause severe eye problems. There is no cure

Conventional arthritis medications include analgesics (aspirin or acetaminophen), NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) or anti-inflammatory drugs. It’s important to discuss these medications with your mother’s physician, as many have damaging side-effects, especially when used long-term.

More and more arthritis sufferers are turning to homeopathic arthritis treatment with natural arthritis remedies because conventional medicine has failed to produce desired results.

    Herbs for arthritis relief:
    * Harpagophytum procumbens (Devil’s Claw) This herb is indigenous to the Kalahari Desert and is exclusive to Africa. Because of its powerful properties, Devil’s Claw is used world-wide for the maintenance of joint, back and muscle health. Scientific analysis shows that the most important active ingredients in Devil’s Claw include monoterpine, harpagoside, glycoside, beta-sitosterol, procumbine and stigmasterol.
    * Glucosamine sulphate is one of the best bio-available forms of glucosamine supplements and it has been shown that 90 – 98% is readily absorbed in the intestines. Glucosamine has been approved for the promotion of joint and cartilage health in more than 70 countries throughout the world.
    * Boswellia serata – Extracts of the gum of this tree found in India have been used for thousands of years to promote joint and muscle comfort and mobility and as a digestive restorative. Research has supported traditional use, making Boswellia an excellent choice for both joint and digestive health.

A 100% safe and natural formulation of these homeopathic ingredients can be found at the below cited webpages:

Foods to Eat/Avoid for Arthritis Relief:

    Consume Plenty of:

    * Salmon, sardines and other oily fish to supply omega-3 oils and counter inflammation
    * Fruits high in citrus flavonoids to reduce inflammation
    * Fresh green and yellow vegetables to provide beta carotene, vitamin C and other antioxidants to reduce cell damage
    * Peas and other legumes, oysters, wheat germ whole-wheat products and milk for zinc, a mineral essential for proper immune system function
    * Ginger to benefit from its anti-inflammatory effects

    Cut Down/Avoid:

    * Vegetable oils and fatty beef and pork, which can add to inflammation

Im 18 & have RA also but I don’t know of any remedies.
I am though taking Humira which is a shot a week
and that has helped SO much. Before I was just
taking pills which didn’t help at all. Oh also
about 4 years ago I was taking Enbrel and that
cleared my syptoms for about three years.
I wish I knew of natural remedies too, but
    the shots really do help.
